Find backups stored on your Mac or PC

You can also use these steps:

  1. Find the Search bar:
    • In Windows 7, click Start.
    • In Windows 8, click the magnifying glass in the upper-right corner.
    • In Windows 10, click the Search bar next to the Start button.
  2. In the Search bar, enter %appdata% or %USERPROFILE% (if you downloaded iTunes from the Microsoft Store).
  3. Press Return.
  4. Double-click these folders: 'Apple' or 'Apple Computer' > MobileSync > Backup.

Delete or copy backups on your Mac or PC

Don't edit, relocate, rename, or extract content from your backup files, because these actions might ruin the files. Use the following sections to make copies of your backups or delete backups that you no longer need.

Copy backups to another location

If you need copies of your backups, you can find the Backup folder and copy the entire folder (not just part of it) to another place, like an external drive or network-storage location.

Locate and manage backups stored in iCloud

If you use iCloud Backup, you won't find a list of your backups on iCloud.com. Here's how to find your iCloud backups on your iOS or iPadOS device, Mac, or PC.

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:

  • Using iOS 11 or later, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Storage > Backup.
  • Using iOS 10.3, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud. Tap the graph that shows your iCloud usage, then tap Manage Storage.
  • Using iOS 10.2 or earlier, go to Settings > iCloud > Storage > Manage Storage.

Tap a backup to see more details about it, choose which information to back up, or delete the backup.

If you rely on your MacBook to play audio files in your business, you may decide that you want to delete its iTunes library. For example, you might use the MacBook to play business-oriented podcasts on topics such as accounting or management principles, or perhaps you just listen to music while processing invoices. Details about these audio files are stored in the library. The iTunes library file is simply a database listing all the audio files you are listening to with iTunes. The library keeps track of how often you play each audio file and the ratings you assign them. If the iTunes library is corrupted, or if you simply want to start over with an empty library containing no ratings or other information, you can easily delete your iTunes library. Delete iTunes Library

Quit iTunes on your MacBook. Click the Finder icon, marked with a blue face on the Dock.

Click “Go” from the Finder menu, and then click “Home” to open a Finder window showing your MacBook’s home directory.

Double-click “Music,” and then double-click “iTunes” to open the iTunes folder.

Hold 'Ctrl' and click the trashcan on the dock to empty the Trash, deleting the iTunes library files. Your actual audio files remain intact on your MacBook.

Restart iTunes. The iTunes application will automatically create a new iTunes library file, and you can start adding new audio files once again.

Delete Audio Files

1.

Click a library in the left pane of the iTunes application window containing the audio files that you want to delete. For example, click “Music,” “Podcasts” or “Books.”

Click “Edit” from the iTunes menu, and then click “Select All.”

Click “Edit,” and then click “Delete.” Alternately, press “Option-Delete.' A dialog box will appear, asking you to confirm that you want to remove the audio files from your iTunes library.

Click “Remove.” Another dialog box will appear, asking if you want to move the selected audio files to the Trash.
