Sep 24, 2015 This will remove your plug-ins, but not the presets or other files. To remove all of the presets (including the preset folder), delete this folder, or subfolders of this folder:. / Library / Application Support / Soundtoys (You could also delete individual subfolders within that folder.).

  1. If using Audio Units (AU), enable the system folder. (Mac Only) Windows. Turn the plug-in folder off and on again. If you've verified that you've installed it to the correct folder, and that folder is active in Live's Preferences → Plug-ins, then disable the plug-in folder and re-enable it.
  2. Sep 05, 2018 love ur site, I’ve successfully installed several vsts but this one I can’t seem to install correctly. I downloaded 32 lives and resurrected other vsts. However before that when I’m installing the pkg file for sound toys bundle for mac it says “this package is incompatible with this version of Macos and may fail to install”.

The Library directories are where the system and your code store all of their related data and resources. In macOS, this directory can contain many different subdirectories, most of which are created automatically by the system. In iOS, the app installer creates only a few subdirectories in ~/Library (such as Caches and Preferences) and your app is responsible for creating all others.

Table A-1 lists some of the common subdirectories you might find in a Library directory in macOS along with the types of files that belong there. You should always use these directories for their intended purposes. For information about the directories your app should be using the most, see The Library Directory Stores App-Specific Files.

Table A-1 Subdirectories of the Library directory

Subdirectory

Directory contents

Application Support

Contains all app-specific data and support files. These are the files that your app creates and manages on behalf of the user and can include files that contain user data.

By convention, all of these items should be put in a subdirectory whose name matches the bundle identifier of the app. For example, if your app is named MyApp and has the bundle identifier com.example.MyApp, you would put your app’s user-specific data files and resources in the ~/Library/Application Support/com.example.MyApp/ directory. Your app is responsible for creating this directory as needed.

Resources required by the app to run must be placed inside the app bundle itself.

Assistants

Contains programs that assist users in configuration or other tasks.

Audio

Contains audio plug-ins, loops, and device drivers.

Autosave Information

Contains app-specific autosave data.

Caches

Contains cached data that can be regenerated as needed. Apps should never rely on the existence of cache files. Cache files should be placed in a directory whose name matches the bundle identifier of the app.

By convention, apps should store cache files in a subdirectory whose name matches the bundle identifier of the app. For example, if your app is named MyApp and has the bundle identifier com.example.MyApp, you would put user-specific cache files in the ~/Library/Caches/com.example.MyApp/ directory.

ColorPickers

Contains resources for picking colors according to a certain model, such as the HLS (Hue Angle, Saturation, Lightness) picker or RGB picker.

ColorSync

Contains ColorSync profiles and scripts.

Components

Contains system bundles and extensions.

Containers

Contains the home directories for any sandboxed apps. (Available in the user domain only.)

Contextual Menu Items

Contains plug-ins for extending system-level contextual menus.

Cookies

Contains data files with web browser cookies. How to change the photo library location on mac location.

Developer

Contains data used by Xcode and other developer tools.

Dictionaries

Contains language dictionaries for the spell checker.

Documentation

Contains documentation files and Apple Help packages intended for the users and administrators of the computer. (Apple Help packages are located in the Documentation/Help directory.) In the local domain, this directory contains the help packages shipped by Apple (excluding developer documentation).

Extensions

Contains device drivers and other kernel extensions.

Favorites

Contains aliases to frequently accessed folders, files, or websites. (Available in the user domain only.)

Fonts

Contains font files for both display and printing.

Frameworks

Contains frameworks and shared libraries. The Frameworks directory in the system domain is for Apple-provided frameworks only. Developers should install their custom frameworks in either the local or user domain.

Internet Plug-ins

Contains plug-ins, libraries, and filters for web-browser content.

Keyboards

Contains keyboard definitions.

LaunchAgents

Specifies the agent apps to launch and run for the current user.

LaunchDaemons

Specifies the daemons to launch and run as root on the system.

Logs

Contains log files for the console and specific system services. Users can also view these logs using the Console app.

Mail

Contains the user’s mailboxes. (Available in the user domain only.)

PreferencePanes

Contains plug-ins for the System Preferences app. Developers should install their custom preference panes in the local domain.

Preferences

Contains the user’s preferences. You should never create files in this directory yourself. To get or set preference values, you should always use the NSUserDefaults class or an equivalent system-provided interface.

Printers

In the system and local domains, this directory contains print drivers, PPD plug-ins, and libraries needed to configure printers. In the user domain, this directory contains the user’s available printer configurations.

Soundtoys Components Not In Library Folder Mac Sierra

Soundtoys V5 Presets and install error see post #3
Hi need some help please. I have contacted Soundtoys support but it would appears this is more to do with something specific to my Windows config.
I have a problem with Soundtoys not saving preset data. Possibly due to harlink extenstion.
I use symbolic hardlinks on my system but I do not know if the following has any bearing on the issue with the software I am using.
I do not believe this now to be Soundtoys specific but more to do with my Windows setup. I contacted ST; regarding the issue with no resolve and they indicated it as an issue with hardlinks. So trying here as the issue may largely be to do with windows.
The associate plugin has been installed with admin permissions and the host DAW software is run with full administrative rights. I have double checked that there are no hardlink main or subfolders used in the installation path for the plugin software.
All other 3rd party plugins work fine when saving presets and using symbolic links of which there's about 60+ 3rd party plugins installed using the main host system, however this particular software is not saving correctly.
It will save the preset name as a zero byte file and reports unable to save at location.
All other plugins work fine even when using symbolic links when saving preset data.
The issue may have been to do with a previous install of the soundtoys software as a phantom install directory is being created during the installation
E:UsersPublicDocumentsSoundtoysSoundtoys 5
I did originally install the software using the symbolic hardlink to E:UsersPublicDocumentsSoundtoysSoundtoys 5.
After hitting the issue of presets not saving, I uninstalled the software, manually searched both c and e drive (and registry) for any soundtoys redundant files and directories. Rebooted, ccleaned and resintalled the software plugin WIHTOUT any hardlinks,
_____________________________________________
On the reinstall the following problem occurs.
When installing the software the installer creates a user preset folder with factory presets and for saving user presets to:
C:UsersPublicDocumentsSoundtoysSoundtoys 5
However the software when launched automatically shows the preset bank menu as empty but all the data folders and files are present at the location
C:UsersPublicDocumentsSoundtoysSoundtoys 5
This default location has all the folders, subfolders and data files within it where it should be as instructed automatically by the installer, however the save function still throw up the unable to save preset error. Saving the file name as zero bytes and unloadable.
_____________________________________________
Within the plugin software there is a dropdown link called organise which takes you to the preset file location (which should be C:UsersPublicDocumentsSoundtoysSoundtoys 5).
However the Soundtoys plugin installer has created a new folder on the secondary drive which did have an historical symbolik hardlink which has since been removed.
E:UsersPublicDocumentsSoundtoysSoundtoys 5
This is where the software is trying to save the user presets and is also looking for the factory preset data by default.
This is not specified or shown as during the install process as it clearly states data fodler at C:UsersPublicDocumentsSoundtoysSoundtoys 5 location.
The E:UsersPublicDocumentsSoundtoysSoundtoys 5 is created by the system post installation,is empty except for the folder and subfolders but no physical data.
During the installation process all folder locations are deafulted by the installer with no option to manually select an alternative folder/drive.
_____________________________________________
To get the software to see the factory presets I have to pick the folder and file structure using the hardlink extension from
C:UsersPublicDocumentsSoundtoysSoundtoys 5
and drop as symbolic link in
E:UsersPublicDocumentsSoundtoysSoundtoys 5
The plugin software now sees the expected folders and data files so works for the factory settings and preset recall.
However the software is still unable to save to location, yet any other plugins or data can be saved fine at the locations using symbolic links or directly to the e:userspublic.. folder.
Something maybe corrupt on my system but I do not know what and why only the soundtoys plugin software is being affected by this issue and no other plugins or software pre or post installation.
I know it's not a permissions issue for the location as all other programs can access the user location and save files there.

Thoughts
1) Would Windows have saved and somehow recall the E:UsersPublicDocumentsSoundtoysSoundtoys 5 when isntalling this software as the phantom folder. I have not been able to locate any references on the C and E drives or registry editor.
2) If I unintsall the Hardlink extension (Link Shell Extension) will reinstalling, will it relink the existing symbolic links that I use regularly or will the be redundant and need to be dropped into the relevant locations again.
3) Any ideas on the phantom folder being created by windows as clearly it is not the installer.
Thanks for your time and whilst it's a detailed post, I appreciate your help.
Any questions shoot.
